Hi there. Can i ask if you are just using the computer to do daily stuff, its is easier and/or cheaper to buy a laptop or build a desktop

If I'm an video editor then my daily use is different then someone that just browses facebook

This. Plus if you do not have the need for portability (carrying laptop along), then desktop can be more quiet, have more performance and have less thermal issues. Really depends what the daily stuff is.

A used dell optiplex or 2014 mac mini would be a great investment.  I own a 2012 mac mini and still use it to this day (i said 2014 as the 2012 wont be supported for long). A good display would be the phillips 278E.

surface pro 5 is also pretty cheap now.
