A couple of days ago, my PC suddenly shutdown while I was gaming.

No smell or sound when it occurred.

my PC wouldn't post after that.

Initially to avoid a full disassembly;

First i unplugged all external stuff expect for power plug, no luck.

Then I tried changing the CMOS battery of my mobo, no luck

Then i check if my PSU was still functioning with the included PSU test, PSU was fine.

I swapped in another PSU just to make sure, no post, PSU wasn't the problem.

I went forward with a full disassembly.

I connect by mobo plus a fan with the PSU, mobo turns on, lights on mobo displays successful post.

Then i pluged in my GPU and connect it to the PSU, no post

I removed the power from the PSU to the GPU, got a post

So now i need help finding if the GPU or part of the mobo is dead.

Most probably the GPU is dead ?

Did you try another PCIe slot ? (with GPU power connectors plugged in)

if it still doesn't work then rip GPU.

Your cpu has a gpu in it one thing to try might be to remove he gpu card, plug your monitor into the motherboard video out and see if it works.  If it does it’s a discrete gpu problem.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.
