CPU Fan stick to mother board

Jaysrk

Hi, so I tried to remove my CPU fan to see if it was the source a loud rattling noise. I unscrewed everything and now it seems to be stuck to the motherboard. It can slide around but I cannot manage to take it off. Motherboard is the b450m and the cpu is the ryzen 5 2600, Any ideas? I can provide more images if needed

It may simply be "glued" to the CPU by thermal paste. Might take a little bit of force to remove it.

Make sure to try to twist it side to side first before just pulling up, so you don't rip the cpu out of the socket and bend pins.

Try twisting the cooler fan to get it off the CPU. If you just straight pull on it there's a chance you rip the CPU out of the Motherboard.
