Hey All!

I'm looking to buy a 15" laptop primarily for gaming in the 2,000ish price range (could go up to 2,500 for the perfect laptop) and after hours and hours of research I'm feeling pretty overwhelmed. GS66, GE66, G15, M15, S15, Scar III, Razer Blade 15, all seem good but all have issues it seems.

I have a few specs I've narrowed it down to:

  • 240hz/300hz low latency VRR display with good colors (GS66 is praised as great, is it VRR?)

  • RTX 2070/2070 super. 2060 feels less future proof, correct?

  • 8 core processor, unless 6 core is really the way to go for thermals (thinking 8 is more future proof)

  • Good thermals (seems to be primary knock against GS66) and not crazy fan noise

  • ideally a 2nd NVMe slot (Razer Blade 15 Adavanced only has one)

  • 16gb of ram with room to upgrade (or 32 and just stick there).

Any recs jump to mind? Every laptop I find seems to lack one of these, or is closer to 3k in price. Good thermals and a good high VRR screen seem to be the hardest thing to find in the same laptop.

Would be willing to go with a 9th gen intel, as 10th gen seems like an incredibly small upgrade, unless I'm missing something. The Ryzen 4000 series seems great, but doesn't seem to be an option for the high end gaming laptops (all seem to top out at 2060).
