so i had a question about this cooler and using it with a 3950x or the newer zen 3 cpus when they come out. i am a little confused as to how much cooling the 3950x actually needs but what i was wondering is is the dark rock pro 4 sufficient to cool the cpu very well?

It's more than enough. The Dark Rock Slim is also plenty really.

It'll be plenty. Even a single tower like an NH-U12S or NH-U14S will be enough for the 3950X probably even with PBO enabled.

It's not as hard to cool as one might think actually, because of the cherry-picked CCXs and smart power management.
