i have a question about my 3700x so i had it in a gigabyte auorus b450 board and something happened to the board itself i dont know if it killed my cpu though how do i test out that cpu? i have a mortar b 450 but i am not sure if i could test that cpu out

If the mortar b450 has an updated bios, you could just put the 3700x in there and see if it works.

I am far from an expert in this so please correct me if I’m wrong.

yeah i think it does however i think something happened to the nic portion of that board. not sure what happened to that part. the thing is i think the vrms on the aorus were bad i dont know if bad vrms can kill a cpu or not

Bad VRMs can't kill a CPU, but defective boards can kill everything. An insufficient VRM will overheat, throttle or shut down. A broken VRM will destroy everything

okbut the 3700 x was used with a wraith max cooler and arctic sliver 5 and had some airflow jut still not sure what caused the problems with the cpu. then i think it got some arctic silver 5 on the pins i used the  one technique to get the arcticlean brushed over that spot but i am not sure if the cpu is dead now.
