trying to understand what happen to my phone

my phone (xiaomi a2 lite) started showing these lines that look like scratches.

it started only on the top right corner, but within few weeks it spread to both side all the way.

it is not the screen protector, i took it off to check. also it does not feel like a scratch.

here some pictures to understand better: https://imgur.com/a/9AC5MiG

i dont excpect any solution, just hope for explanation so it wont happen again with my next phone.

thanks guys!

If it's not the screen protector, is it actually happening to the display glass itself?

here's the thing, there are no grooves, as you usually have when its a scratch on the display glass itself. so while i want to say yes, i have no clue...

Not all scratches have grooves,

if theyre starting to suddenly appear though with the protector on id say its the protector? It doesnt look like the scratches to past the protector sides and onto the black edge

Maybe they were there already and only show in certain light, or it could even be under the display, cant tell unless you take off the protector fully and look at the actual glass itself

If its on the actual screen and not the protector, that means it was there all along. It got scratched up before you applied the protector.

Maybe you did not notice it back then.

lol no.

i have it for over a year, it had protector since day one.

like i said in the original message, it spread. in the beginning only on the top right corner but now its all over both sides.

thanks for your advice but im 100% sure it wasn't like that before.
