My system with the same cpu wouldn't post after I switched the cooler, it was because I bent some pins putting the cpu in.  I really hope that's not the case but it's one possibility.  If you take the HSF off to check the cpu be very careful because the cpu might be stuck to the back of the heat sink fan like what happened on mine.
