Hey everyone,

I bought the NZXT H210 case and the ASUS ROG Strix B450i motherboard. The case has 2 front panel ports: one USB 3.1 Gen 1 type A, and one USB 3.1 Gen 2 type C. The motherboard has 2 internal headers: one USB 3.1 Gen 1 and one USB 2.0. I'm able to plug in the type A cable no problem, but the motherboard doesn't have the right header for the type C port.

I was wondering if there's some sort of adapter that could help. I get that I wont get the best performance from a USB 3.1 Gen 2 port plugged into a USB 2.0 header, but its better than nothing.

There's also a bit of a packaging constraint. The adapter should either be pointing straight out of the motherboard, or away from the RAM, or else the cable will likely interfere with the RAM (see motherboard manual page 16 for pin-out and geometry).

(Sorry if this is the wrong place to put this.)

There are 2.0 to 3.0 adapters, and 3.0 to C adapters, and you could maybe? daisy chain them.

A better solution, though perhaps not the cheapest (these were about $60 when they were available, iirc), would be to get a PCIe card to give you the right header. Unfortunately that one from SilverStone is the only one I've found, and it's out of stock......

Edit: I also just realized you're on a mITX board. So the PCIe card is actually terrible advice. Looks like you might have to try daisy-chaining (making your C port 2.0), or downgrade your 3.0 to 2.0 and use the 3.0 header for the C.

The 3.0 header is a different connector type, so I would still need some sort of adapter. I'll look into the idea of daisy chaining though. Thanks!
