For a long time ive been trying to forward ports (mainly for a minecraft server) but the usual method from the router settings doesnt work, it just does nothing, even if i make firewall rules. The only way ive managed to open a port is by setting it as the connection port in utorrent. That works but it only lets me open 1 port and it only works for my pc (i cant forward a port for a local file server). Is there anything im missing? I have a ZTE zhxn h267a v1

Have you talked to your ISP? Some invoke limits on what you can do with Port Forwarding.

Assuming you have:

  • The correct IP
  • The correct port number
  • TCP, UDP, or Both set correctly

And you're not behind a Double NAT under most circumstances those are the only prerequisites to Port Forwarding successfully.

On my ISP's website there are even a few guides on how to port forward on some of their router's (not mine) so i would think its not restricted. Here is a screenshot of my settings

Firewall rules on the server or on the router? You'll need to allow the ports through the firewall on the Minecraft server.

For Windows

Okay. Looking at the image you posted, for the WAN IP try adding your Public IP address.

This is what is shown on here:

Oh. Sorry. Miss read. :) Stupid question, is the server actually on? Also, you might need to take a look at the Minecraft server properties to check whether the ports are correct.

to test every change i make i use an online port tester like canyouseeme.org and the only time i have got an open port result is when i use utorrent. And the server perfectly works with utorrent so the only thing thats going wrong is the port forwarding
