Something weird just happened

I've been playing rdr2 for past couple of weeks now. With my current graphics setting in the game I was able to get 40+ fps constantly. However today I load up into the game. No settings changed. And my fps was 60+. I upped my graphics setting and was able to get pretty much the max setting except msaa (msaa wasn't on before either) at 40+ fps constant. I am not complaining but curious as of how that happened. My best guess is that the overclock wasn't being applied before. But I always check that before playing. So I don't know.
