Whilst i am pretty sure it is normal for my gpu to get around 70-80C at load, i don't know if it's normal for the actual back plate to burn my finger when i touch it... I have a GTX 1080 G1 and plenty of airflow throughout the case (2x 140mm in the front and 2x 120mm exhaust in the back). I don't want to waste people's time with this but i don't want to blow up :) Thanks!

As long as you are only getting those temps when under load, you should be fine.

I am far from an expert in this so please correct me if I’m wrong.

80c is 176f.  That would burn my finger.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Life is like a bowl of chocolates: there are all these little crinkly paper cups everywhere.
