so question one: i got a dell t5500 with 6 ram slots and i put mied ram in there something like 3x 1gb, 1x 4gb, and 2x 2gb for total of 11gb. now it boots with no errors and in cpuz it shows 11gb running at like 1500mhz but when i click the SPD memory slot selection: nothing comes up.... so i dont no if its working or not or should i just pull some out? i was thinking on steeling 3x 4gb from another pc but i still have the same problem.

question 2: i asked this before and got no replay. so im looking at adding a rx 470 gpu to an hpz400 and dell t3500. the hp has an w3670 and the dell w3680. from the psu guide the 470 is around 158w + cpu 130w +50w extra so thats 338w ish and the hp psu is 425w and dell 525w so should be fine right? i dont no what to look on the psu for the true wats. dose the gpu only pull 12v? i do no that some mb pull 75w form the pcie maybe there were they get the 3.3v and 5v from if it needs in and 12v from the 6pin. i got some 6+2 pin molex and sata and looks like there only 2x 12v and rest are ground? the 2+ is both ground. so dose that mean im looking at the max 12v wats on the psu? the dell t5500 has a 875w psu so should be fine for anything kinda.... i was trying to get r9 fury's gpus but dint get it.... for $78 noting come close to its performance at that price point but it dose suck some power.... i do have 5 470 4gb on the way for around $78 each. they need fans so ill most likely rip em off and put 120 on em.

Generally boards with six slots have triple channel memory which is even more complex to make work right than dual channel memory.  What you have might be all running single channel.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Generally with triple channel all three sticks need to be the same for it to work the way it’s supposed to.  You might have lucked out though I suppose.  I dunno.

ya i learned that the hard way... good to learned about ram even thow it can get vary complex fast... i might just swap out the ram then an make ah hpz400 with the mix ram. at the end of they day im selling the pcs from bit of profit so as long as i get say $60-70 profit don't really mater i guess.

we no that duel channel is better then single even if the duel is a bit slower. but triple channel and quad channel we don't really no....

that's why laptops put 1 stick in and charge extra to get 2 sticks of the same about of ram...

My understanding is dual channel is faster than single channel, triple is faster than dual, and quad channel is faster than triple.  It’s somewhat similar to raid0 but for memory. The systems get more complex and become harder and harder to make work correctly, so ripple and quad have been largely abandoned in consumer systems.  They’ve been tried though.  Most recently iirc by AMD. Dual seems to still be around because it’s the least complex and it does make stuff faster.  There are industrial boards that still do quad channel though I think.
