External Hard disc partitioned

Hello everyone, few days ago my friend bought a new laptop that came without windows installed on it, so he used my external hard disc to create windows installer. now I cant access my data on the disc. The original capacity is 1TB, when i connect it to my computer it shows thats its only 35GB. We did a quick search i we found out that it was partitioned and the data still there some where. and the attempt we did ended up with failure or an expensive subscription plan to restore it to the way it was.

Is there any way i could restore my data? i have important data on that external hard disc.

please help!!

Can you show a screenshot of the partition table?

If the data is important Id send it to a pro, but if you overwrote the beggning of the drive, you probalby lost a good chunk of data at the bennining.

creating an installer disk usually format the drive beforehand. meaning your old data might be gone.

you can use data recovery software, but slim chance that it will recover the whole drive.

We scanned it and the scanned showed that the data is still there. do you know a software that can recover the data that does not require subscription? all the ones i found required at least 6 month subscription?

I'll post it as soon as I get it, I left the disc with my friend.
