I just saw Linus throw his AirPod Pros on a hard floor which made me write this post to let others know what happens to the AirPod Pros when you do that.

My AirPod Pros fell on a hard floor a few times. After one of these falls I noticed an unfixable problem that appears in the noice canceling mode which causes the AirPods to make a painful clicky/choppy noise. You’d experience these clicky noises when there is external vibrations like when you’re in a car and the road is a bit bumpy. Or on the train. Generally when external vibrations reach the AirPods. I have only experienced this issue after I dropped my AirPods and it’s isolated to each AirPod. So I don’t believe it’s a manufacturing defect.

Nothing fixes this except replacing the individual AirPods. Apple has so far replaced both of mine free of charge. I think it’s caused by an internal part loosening after a few hard drops.

You say that but I live in a loud city, train station noise levels are 80 dB on average and can get louder over 100 dB. The AirPod Pro is one of the best things Apple, or any electronics company, has ever made. When they came out, you couldn’t get anything remotely like them.

Also the regular AirPods can take a beating without any damage to audio quality.

You mean like literally every other noise cancelling headphones??.... Or even other ANC earbuds sets like these (shipped before Airpods Pro released), or these or maybe even these
Look, it's fine that you like Apple gear just don't pretend they're something they're not, revolutionary. Apple is and has always been a master of perception manipulation, getting people to believe that their new features are to be applauded when other platforms have had them for generations.

Have you actually looked at the reviews for those? The NuFlo actually has a petition from its backers to get refunds as they still haven’t received their headphones including early backers... Those who have received it don’t like them either.

did you have to have apple care to get it replaced free of charge? or did they do it without apple care?

They replaced them for free because there wasn’t any visible physical damage. I didn’t have AppleCare.
