From which source do you get Dolby 5.1 or Atmos ?

Hi,

At the moment I have connected a Logitech 2.1 speaker system to my Panasonic LED TV using the TV's headphone jack.

As you know from this set up I get 2 channel stereo output.

I am planning to buy a 5.1 system like this one >>> Click here

I watch TV in two ways.

1)Digital Cable. The set top box is connected to the TV using HDMI. My set top box has no support for Dolby audio. It only supports stereo.

2)USB flash drive. I copy downloaded videos to a USB flash drive then I plug in the flash drive to my TV's USB port. Most of the videos that

I watch this way has 5.1 audio.

If I purchase the speaker I mentioned above how do I connect it to my TV so that I get 5.1 audio ?

Using only Linux since 2007. Not a single MS Windows or Mac client at home.

as for the other items..well a hdmi to rca converter for the set top box i guess...usb your screwed

those speakers are not really for what you have. more a computer set up

You'll need something with at least an optical. Some of the Logitech 5.1 sets have those. I'd recommend just looking into the used AVR market if you want to go cheap. Just make sure all the channels work and it has the remote.
