Does using a VPN for Steam still work?

Just wondering if using a VPN and connecting to the USA still works?

Because I have tried and it still says the 27th of Feb for Australia whereas it comes out on the 25th for the USA/

It should if steams check is IP based.

Can you not wait 2 days? Every time you want to run thief you will need to use the vpn too lol not worth the hassle imo

Nope. Only for install will you need a VPN. My friend bought black ops 2 with a Russian key, installed it with a VPN set to Russia. Then logged off, turned off the VPN, logged back in and played black ops 2 in English with us on EU servers.

So you only need the VPN to verify the installation.

Hmmmm... With whatever country I try, the Us and UK both stay at the same dates. Even when using a UK server the USD prices still stay the same.

Just the free version of hotspot, though I wouldn't recommend it. Well it was yesterday, I'll check when I get home tonight. It usually takes a while to kick in.
