XFX RX 480 Bug

Go to solution Solved by HellHound420,

I sent it back to the seller and the half of the vram chips were fried that's why it's did it if anyone else would have that problem!

Hey! I just bought an used xfx rs rx 480 double edition it's working fine I have the latest drivers updated, and I played Forza Horizon 4 on it for like 1-2 hour without any problem. I just downloaded GTA 5 and set everything on very high and ultra and turned on the monitoring, I had fix 60 fps but after 30 second unexpectedly my screen went off and the fans went to 100% and I couldn't do anything only shutting down the pc with the button. After a few try I managed to lower the settings now I have highs and normals only but it should take gta 5 easily isnt it? Something is worng with the graphics card?

As for GTA 5, you would expect that...BUT the game is poorly coded and optimized.

Literally hot garbage programming.

Which 'Thermaltake RGB' do you have?

They have three different tiers... 80 PLUS White (Not very good), 80 PLUS Bronze, 80 PLUS Gold.

The shutting down part is weird...could be overheating, or PSU related problem.

The gpu temperatures at around 70-80 celsius, my psu is the termaltake rgb 80 plus bronze 500w, its like 1 month old, I dont have any OC only what the adrenalin software does for itself. There was 2 incident, at the first when everything was max it just shut down without any warning or anything just powered off the whole pc, at the second one my monitor went off and my gpu fans were at max I think it was so loud even so I wear headphones

Gigabyte Radeon HD 5850

RX-480 has similar TDP as a Radeon HD 5850.

The problem is why the system is shutting down...

70*C ~ 80*C is within specs, albeit a little on the warmer side for an RX-480 with a XFX DD cooler.

What is your CPU temperature when gaming?

Are you able to get another power supply and test it in the system temporarily?

I already reinstalled the whole system

What does that mean??

Did you reinstall Windows?
