3 GPU's in X470 Aorus Motherboard

Go to solution Solved by TomvanWijnen,

You could buy a PCI-E extender so you can then put the GPU wherever you like (based on how long the extender is). :)

Hey Everyone! I have a PC that I built a while ago with the following components:

Motherboard:  https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/X470-AORUS-ULTRA-GAMING-rev-10#kf

Graphics Card (x2):  https://us.msi.com/Graphics-card/Radeon-RX-570-ARMOR-8G/

Right now I have both graphics cards installed in the following 2 slots:

And I'd like to install a third GPU of the same kind in the PCIEx4 slot, however there isn't as much space between the x8 slot and the x4 slot as there is between the x8 and the x16 slot.

So I'm just wondering if it's possible that there's somekind of adapter that I would need in order to make it fit? Or do I just need a card that's less bulky to go in the x8 slot?

Or is the board intentionally arranged like this becuase it only has support for 2 graphics cards?

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Cooper

I'm running Aster so I can have multiple users at the same time and I'd like to be able to have a few extra monitors if possible 😉

And yeah also a lot of video rendering so when it's just me using it and Aster is disabled the extra power would be helpful there if possible.

yea, it will run at x4, but if it fits, it will work for your purpose. a pci extender, as said above, will make it fit, your case may be an issue, depending on the model.
