Budget (including currency): $10K USD

Country:

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Gaming

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc)

Out of curiosity, I am curious what you guys think would be the ultimate gaming set now, assuming you have an almost infinite budget and can afford everything. The ultimate gaming setup is targeting on speed, smoothness, low temperatures and high frame rates. I know that Nvidia 3000 and Big boi Navi is coming out in Q3 but let's focus on what we have and not what's upcoming.

This build is for my friend who is starting a gaming channel and it is going to be solely used for gaming FYI.

Here is what I came up with purely for frame rates ( My friend is a gigabyte fan)

CPU: Intel Core i9-10900K @5.3Ghz

CPU Cooler: Corsair/EK custom loop tubing and fittings

Motherboard: Gigabyte Z490 Aorus Xtreme Waterforce

RAM: Gigabyte AORUS RGB 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3600 Memory

          Gigabyte AORUS RGB 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3600 Memory

Storage: Gigabyte AORUS NVMe Gen4 2 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive

               Western Digital Black 4TB

GPU: Gigabyte Aorus 2080 Ti Xtreme Waterforce

Case: Lian Li PC-O11 Dynamic White

PSU: Corsair AX 1000W

Monitor: ASUS ROG PG279Q Swift

spare some money for good editing software and recording equipment.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

PSU tier list

How many watts do I need?

PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

He is starting a channel?

Well maybe he should focus on quality content before spending $$$ on equipment he doesn't need?

Else I'd say, a second or even third monitor is good to monitor the stream/system. A good microphone is essential, as is a webcam or maybe even a good camera together with a elgato Camlink or a 4k60 capture card, maybe a streamdeck. It's really not only the main system that is important for something like this.

Obviously it doesn't get much better than a 10900k and a 2080Ti at the moment, maybe step up the ram game a bit though.

Gaming HTPC:

If he’s starting a channel, make sure he’ll actually upload/stream with it rather than wasting 10k. Most people, when they say streaming in their build requirements, will stream 2/3 times and the quit when they have no viewers. He’d be better if getting a 2k PC and then upgrading if he needs to.

I 200% agree with Fasauceome, I spent 4K out of my 4K budget on my setup and I regret it hard. Buying a camera, clip-on mic, lighting equipment maybe even a mini mixer, XLR condenser mic, DAS storage or NAS.

There's a lot of money you can waste trying to get the best of the best PC. Don't over spend bro.

Good Luck! :)

My PC is a fast boyo:

6700K - 32GB - 1080 - 256GB EVO

^^You don't need more info than this right?^^

So I guess he is better of spending money on an Elgato 4k60 capture card, a microphone and stuff and maybe just stick to a setup with a 3900x and 2070 Super. BTW after I made this post he already has 1000 subs in 2 weeks. He has already started but he is getting into the real deal now as Youtube may be monetising him anytime soon.

How about this setup

Went 12 Cores for all the rendering and workload editing, along with having a relatively decent FPS. 64 GB of RAM for workload and rendering, 1TB SSD for OS and games, 4TB HDD for more games, 2080 Super because 2080 Ti is overkill and we don't really need 11GB of GDDR6. I went for the best condenser mic that I could find along with a 4K webcam for the clarity even though he is not planning to show his face until he reaches 50000 subs. But this is just preparation so yeah
