1st and 2nd DIMM Slots Not Working // Bad Memory Controller or Motherboard?

not true all the time

since come pins are not critical to boot but critical for other things

some are just reserved pins

i honestly dont know its a 50 50 chance

very very unlikely is the physical socket

if the new mobo didnt work

it could be ( and this is bery unlikely that it is ) that the die cracked but that would be very unlucky

Is it possible to boot without the cpu and see if the mobo at least recognizes the ram or gets to the bios screen?

@Finessed. So was it the motherboard? I'm running into a similar issue right now. Computer shut off randomly and wouldn't turn back on. Tested all ram sticks individually on slot 4 and all of them worked. Computer would never boot if I had any DIMM in slot 1 and 2 though.

Let us know if the new motherboard worked out for you!
