X570 minus workstation characteristics (increased bandwidth from chipset and PCIe 4 on chipset) = B550, so for gamer there's no point for X570 other than the fact that you can buy it right now, not B550.

Ah ty. Is there a reason to wait for b550 though? What features are they going to have that b450 will not?

better cpu power delivery for higher clock speeds, only good for 3900x or higher imo, the 3700x is more than fine since it doesn't use as much power
pcie 4.0, which absolutely nothing uses, the 2080 ti barely uses more than 8 lanes on 3.0, let alone the 16 it can get from the 24 that any ryzen chip can give it.

Do you think x570 boards will come down in price when B550s hit the shelves after a bit?

Hell no, that's just more of a reason to stop making the low end x570 boards that are rarely recommended and are more likely to fail.
Also most of the cost comes in from the first time attempting to implement pcie 4.0, which does mean they're more experienced with implementing it for b550, but they can't go back and make new manufacturing chains for x570. Look at the intel z490 line, literally $100 more than the previous boards because the lanes are in theory pcie 4.0 compliant for the first time.

what is the best b450 motherboard for overclocking, i looked at the this list: https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/1137619-motherboard-tier-list-v2-currently-amd-only/

but b450 are considered tier C and the best ones are , B450 Gaming Pro Carbon, Tomahawk (& Max), Gaming Plus ATX (& Max), B450-A Pro (& Max) (ATX), Mortar (& Max), Gaming Plus mATX, Bazooka Plus, Gaming Plus ITX. Any advice?
