Hello,

I've noticed repeating topics all in the same basket, 552 pages and on going:

  • WinOS Migration
  • WinOS Installation
  • WinOS Backup
  • WinOS License
  • WinOS Setup
  • WinOS B.S.O.D.
  • WinOS Drivers
  • WinOS Updates
  • WinOS Newbies

Sadly, many of these are not answered due to heavy Advil Medication and users give up on searching prior solution because of 552 pages.

Can we please create sub categories?

  • Home > Software > Operating Systems > Microsoft Windows Information
  • Home > Software > Operating Systems > Microsoft Windows Installation/Setup
  • Home > Software > Operating Systems > Microsoft Windows Backup & Restore
  • Home > Software > Operating Systems > Microsoft Windows License
  • Home > Software > Operating Systems > Microsoft Windows Quick Simple Q&A
  • Home > Software > Operating Systems > Microsoft Windows Server
  • Home > Software > Operating Systems > Microsoft Windows Blue Screen of Death
  • Home > Software > Operating Systems > Microsoft Windows Drivers
  • Home > Software > Operating Systems > Microsoft Windows Updates
  • Home > Software > Operating Systems > Microsoft Windows Newbies Area

I just find it all messy and everything dumped in [Home > Software > Operating Systems > Windows].

Like a none stop Déjà vu.

Anyhow, this is my 1/3 cent thought.

Regards,

Elsa Ballerina

It's somewhat ironic that you're asking for more subforums in the wrong subforum.

People won't use them correctly. A lot of what doesn't get answered is the more technical stuff as well.

Maybe in the wrong Matrix world server. 💃

... yes, but @Oshino Shinobu is right, you're posting this in the wrong subsection, the correct subsection to post this in is ;

https://linustechtips.com/main/forum/81-forum-suggestions/

But I'll make this quick ; that's a big no, we're not going to add 10 sub sections to the Windows sub section.

Also, just as a note, you don't have to sign every one of your replies, there's a signature already built in the forum HERE, and putting your username as a signature is quite redundant since your username is already present beside each and every replies ;)

Hello,

That is true, I could have placed this under the suggestion section.
Needless to say that I did not check outside the box (focus on windows) 😁

I am old school like my type writer. 🧐
Thanks for the tip and information.

There should be stickied topic - how to install Windows. Inside should be explained how to download system, where to buy legit os, when installation is needed (like "first time install", "building second computer") and when is not (just for fun because "something was wrong", "because I changed mouse" or "because I change motherboard" - with explanation how system works, how detects new hardware and how new hardware info is stored in registry). Plus additional info about tools that are useful (like Ghostbuster or DDU) or not recommended (like registry cleaners).

Second topic should be about cloning - how to do it proper, when it's useful (migrating to new SSD, backup, when user have lot of programs instated and wants to keep them without spending 20 hours) and when is not recommended (don't really have any examples). What programs are good and tested etc.

Then every time some lazy person who don't even try to use search function, ask "how to install Windows", will get answer with link to proper post. And we can focus on REAL problems then.
