Hello, I think I need some help. I just factory reset my computer because it was getting cluttered but now when I play games my screen just randomly goes black occasionally. But if I alt tab the game comes back.. being in windowed mode I can still navigate around a little and if I put it back to fullscreen or bordered mode it will fix the problem. Or in windowed mode I can drag the game to my other monitor and it will work just fine. One monitor is a 240hz and the other is 144hz both set respectively. I updated all my drivers first thing.. however when I downloaded the logitech software it wont detect my mouse for some odd reason, even when I unplug it and plug it back in.. so I can't adjust my dpi.. which is honestly the least of my concerns right now. Before I reset my computer I didn't have any issues like this occurring.. my computer was just filled with crap I don't ever use anymore so the easiest thing seemed to be to reset it. But now in multiple games it will just randomly go black but come back when I alt tab. Not sure if this is a common issue or not.

I have a ryzen 7 and a gtx1070 running on windows 10.

I am able to watch videos and do everything else normal. The black screen is NOT followed by any sort of automatic system reboot and sometimes it is easily fixed sometimes.. but is occasionally really stubborn. Any tips or advice would be appreciated.

What do you mean by factory resetting the system, like formatting all the drives and clearing cmos? If you've used that weird windows feature, that's your culprit then. Installing an OS over an existing one creates a lot of conflicts, mostly with drivers. A clean install with fresh drivers might help but you would need to backup your stuff first.

it was in fact the reset feature offered by windows. I have no idea if it installed over an existing OS... I dint purchase a new one if thats what you mean? The computer reinstalled windows by itself. I had to re setup my password and all that jazz. I didn't ask it to keep any files just did a factory reset to clean the entire system
