If i'm taking off the cpu cooler to turn it around (i installed it incorrectly), do i need to reaply thermal paste?

Always replace the paste when you take a cooler off. Sandwitching paste might result in air pockets and mnproper coverage.

Motherboard tier list. Tier A for overclocking 5950x. Tier B for overclocking 5900x, Tier C for overclocking 5800X. Tier D for overclocking 5600X. Tier F for 4/6 core Cpus at stock. Tier E avoid.

(Also case airflow matter or if you are using Downcraft air cooler)

( You can overclock Tier C just fine, but it can get very loud, that is why it is not recommended for overclocking, same with tier D)

Some people say you have to, others say you don't. Personally I would just to not worry about it. The biggest thing to consider is how long has the cooler been on the CPU? If it was only a short period like a few days, you probably don't need to. If it has been like that for a year, then I would definitely repaste it.

what can happen is you can get air pockets trapped in the paste, and air is a fantastic insulator, so the thermal performance can suffer as result

What if I applied the paste just 2 days ago?
