Looking to buy a microphone that can attach to my headset (Cloud II's)

Railgun

Hello,

I'm looking to buy a microphone with higher quality than the one I currently use. I don't really like having something big getting in the way and cluttering my desk so I'm hoping there are some decent quality mics that can attach to my headset. I currently use the Hyperx Cloud II's which has a built in mic that can be removed. I don't really care if the new mic fits into the old slot or just attaches to the headset itself via some other method. As long as it works and sounds better than the Cloud's mic

Thanks in advance

Modmic

Does not insert into the headset, no. But works similarly.

Otherwise, I think you should look at condenser mics

Gonna check that out. Right away I see that Hardware Canucks is endorsing it so that's a great sign

Everyone endorses the modmic, for standalone headset mics that's as good as it gets in a reasonable price range. There are mics that would plug in like the old one but I'm just not aware of any great ones.

To be fair I still dislike the sound of the modmic and would recommend moving to a standalone XLR solution but for your situation and usecase the modmic should be more than good enough.
