So I'm trying to find a GPU for a system a friend is giving me that is older because he is replacing it and is giving me the parts. I plan to use this to get games and extra stuff off the computer I use to work from home. So the main 2 components are the Processor and Motherboard. The processor is an AMD FX-8350 Black Edition 8-core and the motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-970A-D3. I'm not certain if the motherboard is Rev. 3.0 or not but this is the page my friend sent me https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA-970A-D3-rev-30#ov. The PCIe is x16 2.0 and if it is Rev 3.0 it will support dual UEFIs. Now that you know this the cards I've looked at are the Radeon RX 580 XT, 590 XT, Vega Series, VII, plus a few others all of them Radeon cards at this point. I'm not against GTX cards if there is a good options for the motherboard and processor I will be getting. Somethings I would like it to have is VR capable, at least 4K resolution. The Biggest thing I would be doing with this card is heavy modding on Skyrim SE at this point. I don't know if I will ever use the VR but would like the option because I have a few games in mind to use it with if I ever get them.

Used Vega 54s or 64s. Mayby even rx 5700. For 4k 5700 XT or radeon VII. your processor will bottleneck hard in 1080p and 1440p but it will go just fine with 4k

I've been looking at anything from about $150 - $500 for the GPU. I was considering a dual GPU at 1 point as well but seems like there isn't as much that really benefits dual GPUs so I decided to increase the budget for the GPU. Like anything though trying to get the biggest bang for the buck.

you could get used radeon VIIs at that price point. if buying new consider rx 5700 XT. you could go for rtx 2070 super too.
