Why is Chrome eating my computers ass?

chrome makes everything into its own process. thats why it SWALLOWS ram. if your pc can't handle chrome but you still want to use something based on chromium, use the *new* edge chromium or brave. 

 

if you don't care about chromium, use firefox.

Might want to considering restarting Chrome.

This is me right now with 21 tabs across 5 Chrome Windows...

this also depends on the number of extensions running. each of those are also their own process.

pdf have 2 process each (one for the tab, one for the pdf viewer).

you have one for gpu acceleration.

one for network services (no clue what that is for)

one for audio service. 

 

so like that, it adds up fast. if your pc is too slow, add more ram or get an ssd with a faster cpu.

Just switch to the new Edge, it's soo much better optimized.

It will eventually come through windows update, but if you don't want to wait, you can download it yourself. It's really great, best browser right now.

Alright I will give it a shot
