H100i Pump worries

Go to solution Solved by acidydragon,

So I have read a lot about corsair aio coolers and how they can develop a pump "clicking" or abnormal noise. I assumed this was an air bubble, and after flicking the loop it seems to have cleared up most but not all of the noise. Should I be worried because I know several have RMA'ed over the issue. Input is much appreciated.

-The pump runs at about 2200 rpm

-Temps are just as they were before the noise

-I am running firmware 1.0.5 (post noise patch)

-Stock fans

-Can provide additional information if necessary

I wouldn't be worried. The RMA's over the noise, are normally because of the noise...

The pump should run fine, but it's a crap shoot on if the noise will stay or go. (the H100/H100i doesn't actually run at the speed BIOS will say it is. It runs at whatever it wants, and outputs a bogus number[which isn't to say it's an issue, just the way it works])

Try switching off the fans for a short moment to locate the source. Might even be the stock fans making the noise.

EDIT: Welcome to the forums! :D

Thank for the fast replies! I think ill wait and see if it gets worse then, thanks. I suspected it wasn't too big of a problem.
