I am building a new PC and these are the parts I'm thinking of getting. Any advice? Is everything compatible? and how good will it be for gaming?

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 3.6 GHz 6-Core Processor  ($174.99 @ B&H)
Motherboard: MSI B450M MORTAR MAX Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws V 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3600 Memory  ($83.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: Samsung 860 QVO 1 TB 2.5" Solid State Drive  ($129.99 @ Amazon)
Video Card: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER 6 GB GAMING OC Video Card  ($249.99 @ B&H)
Case: Thermaltake Versa H18 MicroATX Mini Tower Case  ($54.99 @ Best Buy)

I assume you are not in the US ? as the Mortar MAX isn't sold there. It is a good board though. Out of interest how much is the ASRock X570M Pro 4 in comparison ?

You might be able to find a cheaper set of 3200MHz CL16 Ram.

A Crucial P1 1TB SSD might be cheaper.

Have a look through the psu tier list. There might be better options than the CXM.

As for overclocking the cpu it isn't really worth it. They don't overclock that well anyway. Just let it do it's own thing.

Should be pretty good for 1080p gaming.

The build is compatible, change the Samsung SATA SSD. Get an NVME M.2, Crucial or WD Blue. And your PC case with a Cooler Master MasterBox Q300L. Rest is good.

Also whatt's your budget? How much can you afford to spend? Maybe we can change some other parts.

Why change the case ? The Thermaltake one is fine if he likes it. Airflow shouldn't be an issue, although he would need a couple of fans for the front, but the same would apply to the Q300L.

I actually messed up the Thermaltake Versa H18 with a different model. This one has good airflow. Both Q300L and Versa H18 have good airflow. Yeah you just need to install aftermarket fans.

I had to have a look myself just to make sure 😁

@Ro2000 You will need to buy a couple of 120mm/140mm fans for the front of the case, as you only get 1 x 120mm rear pre-installed.

@lee32uk cool. I'm going with that motherboard cause I want a smaller build and the x570 is a little over $100 more. Im in Australia so pricing is pretty high. Are there any other cases that you can think of that are really compact and suitable for a build like this.

This is at the top of my budget right now, being in Australia things are more expensive and a little harder to get. Whats the difference between the SSDs you said.

I understand. NVME M.2 is faster than regular SATA SSD. Just change the SSD, that's all, the rest is perfect. Like the Crucial P1 NVME M.2 SSD or the WD Blue SN550.

The Silverstone PS15 is a nice case, although it is $20 more expensive looking at pcpartpicker AUS and you still only get a single fan.
