So i have an i7-7700K and a 1080Ti, and lately gta v has been running at between 50 - 70 fps which is much lower than usual, so i thought i would try to turn the settings down to the lowest possible, and the fps is the exact same! What is wrong with my game? how do i fix this?

Have you lowered your MSAA? It tends to be pretty demanding.

All anti aliasing options are off, and like i said, i tried to turn the settings down as low as possible, and i still get the same fps. vsync is also off.

Have you recently swapped the card for the 1080ti?

Maybe like 3 months ago. My pc still runs other games like modern warfare just fine on ultra everything.

I would try deleting everything in Rockstar Games > Grand Theft Auto 5

Can't explain why but deleting the folder will reset the game to stock. If that doesn't work, I would try a reinstall.

If you have an important save game, make sure you back that up.

Also try reinstalling your graphics driver.

I think you might be interested in this GamersNexus vid

Pretty much, there is an issue in the RAGE engine (which both RDR2 and GTA V use) that causes stuttering specifically when a CPU is fast and has a low thread count and the game is not GPU bound. I'm not exactly sure what the behavior of the game on your end is though, it might be a totally different issue
