pretty much anyone is going to tell you to wait for 3000 series gpus from nvidia that are rumored to come out later this year along with the new amd gpus that are supposed to be pretty powerful.  If you needed a gpu at this exact moment, then if you wana spend the money on a 2080ti then sure go for it, atm it is the fastest single card for gaming that you can get

well, considering that the next iteration in the RTX lineup is supposed to absolutely smack the RTX 2080Ti, i would go with something like a 2060 super in the mean time so you don't end up with buyers remorse in case the new cards are like what the rumors say.

It's only like $1500 max for a really good gaming PC

 

would also get an ultra wide monitor over a 16:9 one, if you aren't getting a 1080p 240hz display

2080 Ti is a 50-60% price increase from the 2080 super with a 20-30% performance increase tops. just doesn't make sense unless you just want to get the best of the best.

 

9900k also makes absolutely no sense right now. go ryzen. the 9900k can be directly compared to a 3700x, the 3700x is like half the price of a 9900k. 3900x costs about the same as a 9900k but destroys it. 3950x costs more but has no competition from intel desktop range.
