Solutions with adjustable fans

Go to solution Solved by flibberdipper,

Oh okay then, thank you for the explaination! That is also a nice feature to have, but does the EVO offer the ability to  move the fans up or down so that they do not interfer with my RAM? If it does then it will definitely be my purchase. :)

If you don't mind it looking a little goofy, yes. You can kinda see in the spoiler how I had to move my fan up a bit on my TX3 (basically the same as the evo, just with one less heatpipe and a worse fan) since the stock clip was too tall.

Hello,

I'm looking for air coolers for 1550 socket with adjustable fans. What I mean is moving them up or down and well as a possibility of removing the fans for updating later on. The reason for this is because I have high profile RAM and would like to not replace the RAM or buy a water solution just yet.

So far, I have been suggested the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO because it is extremely good for its cheap price but also because people said you can adjust the fans on it, but here is the list of suggestions I have been given so far;

*I have a definite budget at 50$ for shipping etc etc; need to get rid of aftermarket Rosewill heatsink*

Which, if any, of these can have their fans adjusted? If none of them, do you have any suggestions?

Thanks!

Anything with a 4-pin PWM connector can be controlled. And yes, the EVO is a great budget cooler.

I like the evo 212, you can do some OCIng with it.

Edit; sorry for not answering question, but I think the evo can be adjusted well.

That's fine, I'm glad you answered the thread regardless. :)

 Execuse my ignorance please, but does it being controlable mean that I can phsycially adjust the fans up or down or even entirely replace them?

Controlled as in with the BIOS or with software, like SpeedFan.

EDIT: However, if you can find a replacement fan, and in the case of the EVO it's a 92mm, I think, you can replace it.
