Linux Mint to Windows 10 Home Server

Hi,

 

I'm trying to use Samba to allow my Windows 10 desktop to read/write/create etc files on my Linux Mint laptop so that I can edit files across both without having to use an online service i.e. OneDrive. For the life of my I can't figure out how to get it working.

 

I've been trying to edit /etc/samba/smb.conf but the guides I've been looking at didn't help at all so I've reset it to the stock file (I have a backup), so if anyone out there is a Linux Mint / Samba guru, I'd appreciate some help.
