They're both great budget hard drives,go for whichever is cheaper.

The Caviar Black has more warranty, is "faster" and is more expensive. The Barracuda is really WD's Blue equivalent. So if you want to spend more, than you can get the WD Black, if not just get the Barracuda, it's a great drive.

This. There's no tangible difference for the consumer except for the Price usually.

Yeh, the Black drive is more expensive but only really has more warranty. Idk why people insist that the Caviar Black is so much better than the Barracuda. If I want maximum speed with large storage I'd get an SSHD, or just an SSD with a HDD.

I would go with the WD Blue drive, because I have been using only WD drives for years and I have never been disappointed ore let down. I am not saying that Seagate are worse, but I just like WD better.

Either one will perform perfectly fine.  I personally would go for anything from western Digital, Hatachi, or Samsung (no longer in the market of HDD). Seagate is okay in a pinch, but the plastics used on the sata connectors is junk (does not become a problem unless you are careless or move the drive between systems often).  Toshiba has never lasted in my experience (5 drives and all failed within a year).

I like the Barracuda more because the sticker is only black/white, just go for whichever one is cheaper. If you want to know WD was founded in 1970, Seagate was founded in 1979, so WD has 9 more years of experience and it has more employees, if that makes it easier.
