Budget (including currency): Around the $2,000-$2,200 mark, excluding software and peripherals.

Country: USA

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Gaming; Mostly Cookie Clicker and Minesweeper (I'm not expecting to play Crysis on max settings, but I want max settings on most games [especially unity games], as well as using her for emulators and VR)

Other details: [PcPartPicker list] Basically, I'm upgrading from a 5 year old machine with with a 960 and I want to build a new one that's decently future proofed, plus, I really wanted a case with a transparent side. I have the build mostly planned out, especially the case, but I'd like some input on some of internals, particularly the mobo; I want to make sure the one I chose is decent for this build, ie not under-powered and not too expensive. I also want to make sure that I'd be able to use the 2TB hdd I already own as a backup drive or if I'm gonna need a bigger drive. I'm planning to mount my gpu sideways, but I'm not sure if there will be clearance for any other PCIe cards, like a wifi card or any others yall would suggest. I'm basing her off an OC, so I'm set on a white outside with black and red components (with some blue and yellow led accents in the front or bottom). I'm planning to build her, hopefully, soon, or I'd like to start buying the parts, at least.

You really dont need PCIE ssds in that amount o.o.

Id wait for 10700k and RTX 3000 series, should help with pricing and performance.

That's a good point. Sans the backup disk, my new build would have over twice the storage with only one m.2. I was thinking of putting them in RAID, but would that be way overkill? I suppose it would make more sense to replace the m.2 with another 4TB drive for backup?

Nah one backup drive is enough. Raid 0 is kind of pointless with NVME drives honestly, Even base NVME speeds are not utilized by 95% of programs. Each has its own usecase.

Ah, that'll certainly save me a pretty penny, but vis a vis the backup, I meant is the 2TB drive I already own big enough to backup a 5TB system, or should I buy a bigger drive for that?

I dont know what you are exactly backing up, but generally 4 TB drive is pretty much all most people need.

I just want to have a safety net in case my main drive dies (I've had that happen before and it doesn't feel great) or if something really messes up my system so that I don't lose my files and whatnot.
