upgrade?

Hello people,

 

I've had this PC (https://nl.pcpartpicker.com/b/KJV7YJ) for a while now and i am experiencing lag in low settings not frustrating or really noticeable. but would y'all be willing to take a look. and answer my question of upgrading or is it better to just get a new pc for around 800 to 1000 €?

 

CPU: AMD FX-8320

Motherboard: Asus M5A97 R2.0

Memory: 8gb ddr3-1600

ssd: crucial BX200 240 GB

hdd: thoshiba 1 tb

GPU: Asus Radeon r7-360 series

psu: Corsair VS 450W

Something like this will give you a good upgrade path. If you can wait about a month for B550 boards to launch though I would go with that over the x570 board in this list:

The R7 360 and 8gb of ram is holding it back the most. That said, you should probably just upgrade the whole computer.

I’m assuming the old system is the one listed.  Do not pay €800 for the one listed.

 

The problem you have is lag at low settings implies a cpu problem, and that cpu can’t be upgraded very far.  More memory might help, but I don’t know how that 8gb is laid out, and old AMD has a reputation for being finicky about memory.

 

For €800 you could make a much faster modern system.

If you're not impatient, then yes, benchmarks should be out 1-2 weeks before they get released, so you should keep on eye out which B550 you're gonna buy.
