How noticeable are the differences between the HE-400s and the HE-500s?  Are the 500s worth saving up for?

 

HE-500's are really close to LCD-2's for half the price.

Hey everyone,

 

I got a few hundred I'm willing to spend on a new pair of cans, an amp, and a DAC.  I was thinking getting a O2/ODAC combo from @MayflowerElectronics and then pair of DT 880 Premiums that are on sale on Massdrop.

The k712pro's didn't sound so good to me. I like my k612's better.

He-400/500's would be better.

How noticeable are the differences between the HE-400s and the HE-500s?  Are the 500s worth saving up for?

Alright.  I think I'm going to go with the HE-400s though.  I just don't have the money to get a DAC/AMP along with the HE-500s and I'm too excited to wait.

Ended up getting the HE-500s and I'm just going to be running them off my STX until I have enough to get a O2 Amp/DAC combo.
