help!

so im thinking of building a new pc and the one im using rn is a prebuilt, sometimes when im playing games or opening alot of chrome tabs on my pc there is a message that shows up that says "out of memory" is that just a ram issue? or is it something else i just want to know i have 2x4gb ddr4 ram 2666 mhz or 3000 mhz im not sure

It means you don't have enough RAM for why you're trying to do.

Consider getting 16GB for your next system.

ok just wanted to make sure it was an issue with the ram

PS: It sounds like you don't have much of a pagefile.  (If you don't know, the pagefile is something the OS reserves on your hard drive for when you run out of physical memory -- it'll use the pagefile space instead.  This is considerably slower, fyi, but at least you won't hit a brick wall of an error message). 

 

If you don't want to see that error again and you have some free space on your system, you can increase the pagefile size.  Here's a brief demo of how to do it in Windows 10:
