so I recently made a post about how my hard drive was making a weird noise and was told that it could be a bad bearing in the hard drive. So I decided to be proactive and backup my files to my family's external hard drive. But during that process my hard drive died. Luckily I didn't lose any super valuable files. That being said I am in the market for a new 2tb hard drive but am a little pressed for money because of the global pandemic. Anyone know any good deals on a reliable hard drive? Thanks

Toshiba's are very reliable from my experience. .WD's are very good too. are you in the US or EU?

If you don't need it right away, Aliexpress, best discounts on 11th of November...

Might save a copy on USB flash sticks or even microSD cards, those are rather cheap.

Sadly the only other storage devices I have are a 120gb ssd which has my OS and other often used programs and a 500gb which is what I use to back up photos and videos from my current phone and previous phones. So the 2tb hdd is what I used for every other program, files, and games.

Nah all hard drive companys tend to have the same price range, Since you are in the US you can get hard drives easier and for less. What do you shop on? Ebay, amazon etc?

Aliexpress? Those hard drives will die off in 3 months. The only thing i can recommed from storage in aliexpress is the m.2/2.5 inch ssds, But they will die off too. While you can buy from aliexpress the products will be legit just they're outdated tech from the company's that actually manufacture those item. The discounts are not legit. You should know this by now lol
