Hey guys. I'm looking to update my CPU in the coming days / weeks / months, it really depends on getting the right CPU.

I'm currently with intel, but honestly, I don't care if AMD or Intel is right for me as I want a new motherboard also.

As I am going to do some watercooling, overclocking is also to be take into considering.

What am I going to do on my PC? Play games and stream. Nothing more, nothing less really.

As I understand, Intel is still king when it comes to coming (just), whereas AMD is more multitask performance. (but could be wrong)

Using https://cpu.userbenchmark.com/ as a comparison, but I've also heard it's not a reliable website (again, could be wrong!)

As for a price, I really don't have one in mind, I don't want anything stupid. I'd be looking more at the 10700k, 10900k or AMD equivalent really.

I'll be running streamlabs.

Thanks!

Don't use userbenchamrk, they are known to be misleading.

My suggestion would be to get a 3700X and an X570 motherboard or a B550 if you're willing to wait until June 16th. The 500-series motherboard enable an upgrade path to the Ryzen 4000.

Main Rig :

Ryzen 7 2700X | Powercolor Red Devil RX 580 8 GB | Gigabyte AB350M Gaming 3 | 16 GB TeamGroup Elite 2400MHz | Samsung 750 EVO 240 GB | HGST 7200 RPM 1 TB | Seasonic M12II EVO | CoolerMaster Q300L | Dell U2518D | Dell P2217H |

Laptop :

Thinkpad X230 | i5 3320M | 8 GB DDR3 | V-Gen 128 GB SSD |

Never use userbench, they are malicious and banned on r Intel and r hardware. Soon to be banned on r AMD too. They have repeatedly engaged in abusive behaviour and manipulated results to make intel CPUs look better than they are and have been called out by almost all legitimate reviewers

Thanks. Is there a website that are trusted with good comparisons?

No, look at trusted sources like Gamers Nexus and Hardware Unboxed. Don't look for a one metric solution as those don't exist and any that mascarade as such are usually fake (as with userbench)

I mean it is kind of hard with out a budget or an approximate

Because let's say you have 200 Dollars

Some cpu's are great for streaming at that budget and etc

So is there like an estimate on how much your planning to spend for the cpu ?

PC: Motherboard: ASUS B550M TUF-Plus, CPU: Ryzen 3 3100, CPU Cooler: Arctic Freezer 34, GPU: GIGABYTE WindForce GTX1650S, RAM: HyperX Fury RGB 2x8GB 3200 CL16, Case, CoolerMaster MB311L ARGB, Boot Drive: 250GB MX500, Game Drive: WD Blue 1TB 7200RPM HDD.

Peripherals: GK61 (Optical Gateron Red) with Mistel White/Orange keycaps, Logitech G102 (Purple), BitWit Ensemble Grey Deskpad.

Audio: Logitech G432, Moondrop Starfield, Mic: Razer Siren Mini (White).

Phone: Pixel 3a (Purple-ish).

Well I currently run an 8700k with a 1080ti. (Looking to upgrade both this year)

I play at 1080p and use a 240hz monitor.

I potentially want to max out at the best I can, without going for something unnecessary like a threadripper etc

I'd consider the new 10700k to be in budget, so something around the £400 mark

Dont upgrade the 1080ti

Still has a massive memory buffer and is very competent

I don't recommend LGA 1200 this year

While it does look better , it still has the same core and thread count and still is on 14nm so I don't expect a massive ipc improvement

I recommend something like a 3700x like what @Fatih19 said and an x570 board or just wait for b550 just because they will have the best compatibility with zen 3

Watching a few 3700x reviews right now, so I will keep this CPU in mind.

Though the first video from Digital foundry didn't sell it well compared to a 9700k, but that was purely for gaming and didn't include streaming in the background.

As for the GPU. TBH, it's all down to what Nvidia announce later this year and if it's worth it

Pretty much yes

Since they are moving to a 7nm possibly 5nm manufacturing

It can be expected to yield as much as 30 % more performance
