My fiance plays Sims 3 on her laptop.  I'll be building her a desktop PC in a few months.  How can she play Sims 3 on both the laptop (from the couch), AND on the desktop?  There isnt an issue with having it installed on multiple PCs in Origin, i know.  The issue is the saves.  Sims 3 does not support Cloud saves, and only saves locally.  Is there any way around this?  How can she save progress on laptop and continue playing on desktop, vice versa?  Is there a way??

Hey.

Hmm, one thing you could try is setting up a schedule backup over the network. Tell both machines which folders (the sims save files) to sync whenever a change is made automatically.

There might be another option but that's all I can think of which is hassle free (once it is set up) and works automatically.

Corsair 400R, i7 3770K @ 4.5GHz 16GB, Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz, Gigabyte Z77X-UD5H Motherboard, 240GB Samsung 840 Evo Sata III SSD, 2 x Asus GTX 780 Direct CU2 SLI, Corsair H100i and Corsair AX860i Platinum Power supply.

Thanks for the quick response.  That's a good idea.  I use synctoy for my backups, on a schedule at like 1AM.  do you know of any backup programs that run a real-time sync?

or streaming, streaming is possible

Using what?  I tried streaming SimCity (on Origin) through Steam in-home streaming and it didnt work lol

I use Smartsync Pro for my back ups. You can set up scheduled back ups at specific times also you can set it to sync as soon as a change is made in given directories. You can also out  a delay, say 60 seconds.

I think it's a great piece of software and does all I need it to do.

Maybe windows back up software has an option to do it, too? I've not used windows back up so I can't say for certain. If it does, great! It's free

However, it might not. My best bet is Smartsync.
