Anti-Virus

I just built a new Gaming PC, and I'm wondering what you all think the best anti-virus software would be for a gaming setup. I dont want it to be running a million things in the background slowing performance and pop-ups. I saw one called bitdefender i believe, and obviously norton and mcaffee. I just am looking for advice from people who have tried and tested these programs. THANKS in advance!

malwarebytes is pretty good too

The best Anti Virus is your brain, don't do anything stupid or go on sketchy sites and you should be good for the most part. Beyond that, keep Windows BitDefender on and I recommend MalwareBytes.

So you're saying I should use both programs? Will this slow down the performance since it will always be running in the background? I see from the video above, that bitdefender has a game mode and an autopilot which will take care of unwanted pop ups. I don't know if Malwarebytes has the same feature. I just don't wan't the performance to suffer and don't want pop-ups.

I use malwarebytes and I don't get popups during games. There isn't a noticeable performance impact either, but If you are worried about it you can test a game before and after downloading it to see if there is a difference.

Cool, thanks for the help. Just to clarify, you use both bitdefender and malware? simultaneously?

Sorry I meant Windows Defender the built in AV, not Bitdefender. So I use MalwareBytes and the built in Windows Defender.
