Rn i have R5 3600 gigabyte b450m gaming mobo 16gb ram 3000mhz and i am looking to get an rtx 2080 super so i can play heavy games like ac Valhalla and cyberpunk and more at good fps on ultra settings. Should i get a 2080 super or should i wait for 3000 series cards which btw id love if someone tells me their release date. Which would be more worth it like is it worth the wait or should i just get a 2080 super. Again please if you know the release date of the 3000series cards please id love to know.

an rtx 2080 super is still a good card and will be for a while, but i would wait for next generation graphics cards, hopefully theyre coming out this year.

I don't think anybody can give you an exact date, but you should see new cards from AMD around the time of the new console releases (PS5, Xbox Series X).   NVIDIA will also make sure their newest cards will be around that time as well.

However, this is all conjecture and with the pandemic anything can change.

do you think the 2080 super could last for another like 5 years if i buy it or should i just wait for the 3000 cards in your opinion?

Unless you're already not satisfied with your performance, I'd really suggest waiting for Ampere/RDNA2.

Nvidia will allegedly be revealing Ampere at GTC 2020, which is on the 14th of May. If I had to take a guess, I reckon they'll launch new cards around Q3 (September or October), assuming the whole COVID situation won't affect the production and cause more delays.

The next-gen consoles are also launching in the Fall, so there's a possibility that AMD will also come out with their new cards.

That is a tough question to answer.   The card itself - sure, but would it live up to you expectations - can't say.   However I don't think the next generation of video cards will do that either.

Sorry I would like to be able to answer you but there is no real way to do that.   It is a tough decision to wait or buy.   If you system is holding up right now and the games you mentioned are a ways off - I would wait until closer to those games being launched before deciding.

So what I would do is find the 2080 Super card(s) that you really want for price/performance and put watch lists on them.

If the price drops to the point that it is a instant buy for you then you pull the trigger.  If not, then wait.   As you said you have a couple of weeks to decide.  Wait for the reveal from NVIDIA at least to see the direction they are taking.
