gpu help

Tried msi afterburner through wine. it doesn't see cpu or gpu. my gpu is getting 66 degrees, and only 55% fam speed. i got a 2000 on 1080p ultra heaven benchmark. since i may as well be using an overclocked 1070 (as it has all 8gb ddr5x + the speed 1887mhz according to the benchmarker/higher than boost clock.) using a p104-100, think its throttling. so how do i make the fan always go full speed? i'd ask in gpus, but after bruner is all everyone recommends. 

main rig:

CPU: 8086k @ 4.00ghz-4.3 boost

PSU: 750 watt psu gold (Corsair rm750)

gpu:axle p106-100 6gbz msi p104-100 @ 1887+150mhz oc gpu clock, 10,012 memory clock*2(sli?) on prime w coffee lake igpu

Mobo: Z390 taichi ultimate

Ram: 2x8gb corsair vengence lpx @3000mhz speed

case: focus G black

OS: ubuntu 16.04.6, and umix 20.04

Cooler: mugen 5 rev b,

Storage: 860 evo 1tb/ 120 gb corsair force nvme 500

Im sorry but I cant understand much on what you said. 

 

edit: nvm its gddr5. 

 

you can change the speed of the fan curve via the setting option in the afterburner. in there you can adjust the graph based on the temperature and just ramp it up or down depending on your needs. 

Im with the mentaility of "IF IM NOT SURE IF ITS ENOUGH COOLING, GO OVERKILL"

im using linux as i said, and afterburner doesn't see my cpu or gpu so i cannot use it. i need a way to change the fans to always full speed without afterburner @MartinKweh

have you tried the "GREEN WITH ENVY" tool?  I think its made for nvidia cards for linux to control everything. Though verify first

You could try the flatpak version, I believe it has some limitations however. Not sure if a repo exist for Ubuntu unfortunately.

 

There are instructions for how to install the flatpak version on the git page, if you don't have flatpak this may help.

Otherwise you could compile it.

I believe they don't start to throttle until 72c, so 66 seems reasonable. I would imagine fans would start to ramp up around 75c

well, 4 degrees isn't much. kinda scary to think throttle is so close, concidering ill be using sli
