Nope.
There is no way you can damage the GPU by not plugging them all the way in.

if it hasn't caught on fire already, don't worry about it. As long as you plug it in the rest of the way, you're fine.

50w per pin at max power draw.

I don't know where you're taking the 277w power draw from.

 

Also keep in mind that additional impedance is already accounted for by design.

if your worried about damage, check the pins in the socket with a flashlight and magnifier. otherwise, if the cables go in, and it works, then no worries.
