What router should I get?

Fictionvl

Hello LTT,

so I finally upgraded to 500Mbps with optic fiber at home

and my routers are really bottlenecking the speed, getting 100Mbps down and up on speed test

and I really want to utilize the most out that bandwith, so what routers would you guys recommend?

around the 500 AED ( 130 - 150 $ ) price point

I've been looking at the nighthawk R7000 from netgear but I'm welcoming any suggestions!

please use Amazon.ae prime is highly recommended

thanks!

That 100mb is just coming from the routers 100mbps switching capability, essentially any router than can go up to 1gbps on the switching side would give you what you need.

Actually the switch runs on its own CPU doing a much simpler job.  When it comes to the broadband side its the routers main CPUs NAT ability that becomes the issue and many cheap routers can struggle at those speeds.

Router:  Intel N100 (pfSense) WiFi6: Zyxel NWA210AX (1.7Gbit peak at 160Mhz)
WiFi5: Ubiquiti NanoHD OpenWRT (~500Mbit at 80Mhz) Switches: Netgear MS510TXUP, MS510TXPP, GS110EMX
ISPs: Zen Full Fibre 900 (~930Mbit down, 115Mbit up) + Three 5G (~800Mbit down, 115Mbit up)
Upgrading Laptop/Desktop CNVIo WiFi 5 cards to PCIe WiFi6e/7
