Thank you for that very quick response!

There were a lot of rumours that I read out there that PCIE 4.0 was not going to be backwards compatible. Then again, I am still learning 😅. thanks again!

pci 4.0 is pretty raw technology and still improving

i think no, because new cards like 2080ti can work on pci2.0 really good, with like 3-4% fps difference between pci 3.0

Yes, my i5-8600K is bottlenecking me. I'd prefer not to buy a  new mb  for all the new CPU's but then again, for GPU 30 series I will wait... so either I buy an i7-9700K or an  i9-9900K however the latter is quite expensive... oh decisions  decisions... It's not that I can't afford it,  it's more like; should I?  :P

i'd wait til zen 3 release to decide, since the 8600k is just a minor bottleneck, you know what you are getting from intel and 8->10cores doesn't really matter, but a 200mhz increase on zen 3 completely wipes out whatever advantages intel has left, though it'd be the more expensive route than simply upgrading your cpu.

Yes because they were released just 7 months ago. Buy the Gigabyte x570 Aorus Elite for 200€ if you're in a hurry or wait for the MSI x570 TOMAHAWK that'll get released till the end of this month, also 200€.

Gigabyte X570 UD is in sale, where I live. Its just 10-20 bucks more expensive than B450 TOMAHAWK MAX.

I bet my entire rig you are wrong on that. You resonate from the nice assumption that brands like Nvidia care about their customers and only provide an update after a set amount of years. Although I wish you were right, I guarantee you that the 30 series will be released this year or 2021 not a year later. Technological improvements accelerate every single year and brands like Intel and Nvidia only care about money.

Just look at the RTX 20 series. I bought and RTX 2070 when they came out and litterally 4 months later... BOOM Super series came out... like wtf.

You are definitely right on that... oh but my gf is gonna be pissed that I redo my entire rig XD

Oh I wont overclock too. I just want some gaming to spend time, have fun times. Wont overclock when got RTX 3080 too. But will MSI B450 TOMAHAWK MAX support Ryzen 4000.. Thats all I'm looking for.

Leaks show that Ryzen 4000 will be backwards compatible with B450 and up.
