Okay so here’s my issue, I’m a competitive CSGO gamer.. and I’m looking to buy a budget gaming pc (around $1000CAD) I would like something relatively fast and can run pretty decent FPS “maybe around 140?? (Only if possible) and Compatible with my 144hz monitor.. if you can help me out then I appreciate you a lot. Also if you do list parts from amazon or other sites could it be Canadian? ❤️

competitive CS:GO gamers usually target about 300 fps so I think a mere 140 is a little low for your aspirations

If you want primarily good counter strike performance:

It comes in a tiny bit over budget

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

PSU tier list

How many watts do I need?

PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

Smidge over $1000 CAD but not by much. If you need a HDD you can always add one later on but I went ahead and went with a solid build to get you started. Much easier to toss in a HDD later on than it is to buy a HDD and add an SSD later and transfer everything or reinstall windows.

Well I’m doing Just fine sitting at supreme with only 90fps but thanks a lot, what kind of FPS would you think this build would put out?

I do have a question.. what’s the difference between a HDD and SSD? Why is the SSD more sought after for gamers?

I Use my knowledge as business owner and self taught technician aswell as an AI to help people. AI might be controversial but it actually works pretty well 90% of the time.

Well a HDD is slow and relies on spinning a platter and looking for the data.

An SSD is much faster because it keeps a table of where all the data is located so it doesn't have to seek the data out.

Think of the data access times like driving a beat up old car that might get 50mph on a good day with the wind behind it vs a top of the line super car that can do laps around the old car. HDDs are good for storing a ton of data (for now until prices on SSDs drop more) or for using things you don't have to access quickly such as photos, movies, etc.
