Intel chipset restrictions

does anyone know if there is a way to unlock the intel hm70 chipset? i want to upgrade to a core i3/i7 but the computer automatically shuts down after exactly 30 mins..

What board or system is this from?

 

The chip set shouldn't cause a shutdown.

 

A shutdown after 30min makes me think there might be a thermal issue . Did you try a different os to rule out software issues?

i didnt try a different os but ive seen this problem all over youtube about the hm70 chipsets..this is from a toshiba laptop btw but the same problem persists with different brands of laptops aswell

How do you know its the chipset and not something else on the system? I guess its some other failure rather than the chipset.

the system works perfectly but as soon as i put in any core series processor. it shuts off after exactly 30 mins.. ive read online that intel put restrictions so that consumers can use only pentium or celeron processors
